Spectrum Mirror is an interactive digital art piece that uniquely connects music to human movement. Whenever I listen to music I feel an energy emanating from within, and it seems to move in sync with the music's loudness, mode, tempo, and other factors. This led me to ponder: What if we could visualize these invisible forces using new technologies? What if we could create a whole new level of immersion for users?

The first prototype for this idea was created during a student project at Aalto University Embodied Interaction course. It contains depth sensors and a music spectrum analyzer in a graphic engine. Users can stand in front of a vertical screen and see themselves as abstract visuals. They can choose any song they like (with or without headphones), and their digital replica will respond to different music attributes in real time.
